Petronet's 17th Foundation Day Celebration

Petronet LNG Limited, a leading company in the Natural gas sector proudly celebrated its seventeenth foundation day on the 2nd of April 2014. It was moment to rejoice and celebrate as Petronet LNG was again seen standing tall and impressive, carrying forward the baton of success and keeping up the promises of continuous growth and improvement. The Foundation day Celebrations was attended by senior officials from Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, senior leaders of the Oil & Gas Industry.

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Rumhy, Minister of Oil & Gas, Sultanate of Oman was Chief Guest of the occasion and delivered 4th Foundation Day Lecture in the august presence of Smt. Lakshmi Panabaka, Minister of State, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Textiles, Government of India and  Sh. Saurabh Chandra, Secretary, MoPNG & Chairman, Petronet LNG Ltd.

The celebrations started by lighting of lamp, invocation and Saraswati Vandana by children from the blind school, Lodhi Road.

Sh, Saurabh Chandra, Secretary, MoPNG & Chairman, Petronet LNG Limited while welcoming Chief Guest on this momentous occasion expressed his sincere gratitude to H.E. Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Rumhy. He talked about long cordial relationship of India and Oman. He shared his experiences of Joint Venture -Oman Fertilizer, a flagship successful initiative in which he himself was involved. He expressed his hope and desire for such similar projects with Oman in near future. He congratulated the team Petronet for all the hard work put in by them in bringing the company to its heights.

The welcome address was followed by Petronet's Choir song "Taral saral" which was performed by Petronet employees expressing their zeal and aspirations of the company.

Smt. Lakshmi Panabaka, Minister of State, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Textiles, Government of India addressed the occasion and appreciated Petronet for its consistent outstanding performance and being a hallmark of energy security of India.

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Hamad Al-Rumhy, Minister of Oil & Gas, Sultanate of Oman while delivering 4th Foundation day Lecture was humbled to find himself in the list of renowned speakers of Petronet's Foundation day lectures. He discussed about the historic evolution and revolution of Gas. He talked about the developments in gas industry, the industry which is young and the rapidly evolving and growing. He said that biggest development of century is undoubtedly Gas. Technological advancement has changed the face of this industry. He shared how hydrofracking has evolved over the years. The technique has been around since the 1950s but its use has grown significantly in the past few years as demand for cleaner energy has increased and technologies for extracting natural gas have improved.  He was happy with the fact that India and Oman has shared some very good fruitful ventures. He congratulated Petronet LNG Limited for their success and wished them for bright future.
