Petronet LNG Limited is one of the fastest growing world-class Public Limited Company in the Indian energy sector. It has set up the country's first LNG receiving and regasification terminal at Dahej, Gujarat with present nominal capacity of 17.5 MMTPA and another terminal at Kochi, Kerala having a nominal capacity of 5 MMTPA. The company is also exploring suitable opportunities within and outside India to expand its business presence.
The Company had set up South East Asia's first LNG Receiving and Regasification Terminal with an original nameplate capacity of 5 MMTPA at Dahej, Gujarat. The infrastructure was developed in the shortest possible time and at a benchmark cost. The capacity of the terminal has been expanded in phases which is currently 17.5 MMTPA and the same is under expansion to 22.5 MMTPA in two phases. The terminal has 6 LNG storage tanks and other vaporization facilities. The terminal is meeting around 40% of the total gas demand of the country

Dr. A K Balyan, an alumni of IIT Delhi and PhD from Germany, having over 44 years of professional experience commenced his career in 1972 from Shriram Group. Dr. Balyan joined Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in 1976 and served the organisation for over  33  years in various roles including Director HR & Director Business Development, ONGC from 2003 to 2010.
Dr. Balyan has successfully steered ONGC’s transformational program and aligned the policies of this vast corporate with emerging business imperatives through his vision, strategy and execution excellence. He Championed the turnaround of MRPL from a sick company to an award winning high performance and profit driven refinery.  He went on to lead various critical business projects in ONGC. He also institutionalised a proactive Corporate Citizenship policy  with focus on Health Care, Education, Entrepreneurship, Disaster relief and water management and many more. A HR professional who played true role of strategic business partner and employees champion.
Currently, Dr. Balyan is serving as Managing Director & CEO of Petronet LNG Limited, one of the fastest growing  company in the Indian energy sector.  At Petronet, Dr. Balyan has taken the LNG business to greater height and set a benchmark with integration of Technology and Human Resources. His current role is recognition of his leadership and he is amongst the few HR leaders in India to become a successful MD & CEO.
Dr. Balyan has held several positions in various professional bodies that include National President of NIPM, Member- Executive Committee of SCOPE, Trustee in Project Management Associates, Member, All India Board of Technical Education(AICTE), Member, Board of Studies at AIMA, Member of National Executive Board of NHRD, President – Delhi Management Association(DMA) and Vice President of All India Public Sector Sports Promotion Board.
In recognition of his significant contribution to the HR profession, National HRD Network has conferred Dr. A K Balyan with Life Time Achievement Award - 2014 in its annual conference function at Mumbai.
